In Week 5, we asked Mr Tangye, our school's Aborginal Education Officer, to come to our classroom to teach us about Aborginal Art. Mr Tangye showed us some of his very own artworks and we all could see how talented he is! Mr Tangye then asked Emily to ground some 'ochre' - to make a traditional Aboriginal paint. Mr Tangye put some of this traditional paint on his face. After this, Mr Tangye drew some Aborginal drawings onto our HSIE book covers in black texta. We were then able to use the 'Dip Dot' method, using the 'dabbers' to create our dot paintings. Our book covers look FANTASTIC. Mr Tangye and Mrs McAlister were so impressed with our Aboriginal Artworks! What do you think??
