Each year, St Marys North celebrates NAIDOC Week. We participate in a range of interesting activities that have an Aboriginal Culture theme. Some activities included: boomerang throwing, artefacts, indigenous games, dot painting, dancing, bush tucker and we got to eat some crocodile and kangaroo meat. Here are some pictures of us enjoying this very fun day!
To finish off our unit on Built and Natural Sites in Australia, and with NAIDOC Week coming up, 2/3A looked at images of Uluru on the internet and created their own representation of this cultural site.
Over the past few weeks, 2./3A have been very lucky to have Miss Valletta work in our classroom. She taught the students all about Fractions and 3D Objects, as well as, continued teaching about Built and Natural Sites. 2/3A enjoyed doing art lessons with Miss Valletta. They created a collage of the Opera House and the Great Barrier Reef. 2/3A and Mrs McAlister will miss her happy face in our classroom. We all wish Miss Valletta good luck in her teaching career, and we all know that she will love teaching in her own classroom one day! Her students will be lucky to have such a great teacher! Here are some photos of 2/3A with Miss Valletta! Here is some of the work that 2/3A have done with Miss Valletta over the past few weeks!
The Jolly Bops show was really good. It was funny and we learnt a lot about Science as well!
Jordyn and Xyi did a great job as Science Assistants, during the show! 2/3A please comment and tell us what your favourite part of the show was....??? |
