Today Mr Tangye came into our room to do some Aboriginal Art with us. We made paint using ochre. We ground the ochre rock into a powder, then added water and stirred to make the thick paint. We then learnt the Aboriginal symbols for 'rainy day' and 'family meeting place'. The best part of the lesson was using the ochre to paint these symbols on three huge gum trees, found in our playground. Here are some photos of this awesome lesson!
Thankyou Mr Tangye for another great lesson learning about the Aboriginal Culture!
Wow 2/3A, it looks like you all had a wonderful time with Mr Tangye. I hope the rain stays away so everyone can enjoy your artwork on the trees.

Didjurigurra (thank you) for another deadly Aboriginal Culture Class! Your paintings look amazing and lots of boys and girls around the school have been asking about them.
